If anyone invests in stock, Wal-Mart might be a good choice right now, since the heir to Wal-Mart, John Walton, died in a plane crash he was piloting. Heres a tip to future pilots, dont do it if your name is John.

| Computer selectively fritzing? |
[15 Jun 2005|11:15pm] |
|
For some reason this computer doesnt want to go to the site I access more than any other 5 sites combined, frankshamrock.com. Why did it go on the fritz? I dont know. Its the ONLY site of all sites I go to that isnt coming up. I used my brothers laptop to see if it could access the site, and it brought the page right up....tried this one again, no dice. I cant see the forum activity, and being the most active user on the site, its naturally driving me mad, because I havent been able to access it for 4 days now. I cant just keep using my brothers laptop given the considerable amount of time Im apt to spend on the site. I havent filtered the site, and tried seeing if my settings needed reajusting, and no luck. Anybody got some insight on this? Because Im at my wits end here.

| This is strange. |
[07 Jun 2005|11:04pm] |
For the first time I just got done reading in full detail the replies from a post on someones LJ. And the people who have read this will realize which one Im referencing. The deal is this...
If one shells out $200+ for a costume they commissioned, thats a business deal. Money in exhange for a custom outfit. Great, good deal, good business transaction. But then theres a statement made, after a year of ownership, that after someone has forked money for an outfit, they still owe it to the craftsperson who made it to clear with them to enter it into a contest? Thats nonsense, its good to give proper credit where its due, but after the sale and shipping, its come into new ownership, therefore, with the money spent in -purchacing- something, they then reserve the right to do with it as they want, because its -theirs-. Giving credit to the creator is a great courtesy, not a conditional requirement, nor is it a requirement to have to get approval from that person to display it in any way, shape, or form. Thats trying to claim some kind of ownership you no longer have. You sell your wares, be glad of people giving you credit at all. If you dont want it to be displayed or used in skits, dont sell it.

| Project A: The Anime Syndicate |
[09 May 2005|10:40pm] |
|
Word may have floated around a bit among some of my friends that Jim and I are setting out to build a new anime business. It still has to be run by Jim for final approval, but the name of the company as I have it is titled Project A. Of course, as many of you brains have probably deduced, its Project Anime. The secondary name being The Anime Syndicate. Its quite involved, and includes several phases and goals that are swimming around in my head. I could probably talk on it for hours once I get it all organized. But the basic concept is this. Jim and myself build up what is to be the most profound anime experience across the nation. This would include having not only an internet store, but have massive forums for a variety of subjects, broken down by peoples wide variety of interests, because anime fans as I see it are drawn to many different aspects of anime, including maybe certain titles, the fact that its derived of Japanese culture, the reading time, artwork, story writing, arcades, gaming, culinary interest, even as far fetched as driving cars for fun. Whatever it may be, anime draws many different people together, and the aim is to draw them unto Project A and support the positive growth of anime across the nation, catering to EVERY aspect. Its bigger than one store, one small forum, one artsite, its the congregating of fans for a common interest, that being why I dub it a syndicate. The fans/customers arent simply that. They are, in a sense, a family of diversity. Who among the present anime stores treat them as such? No one. So we would have a membership set up with our own line of apparel. Imagine, fans/"syndicate members" across the nation wearing apparel showing their affiliation to this cause. Long term goals, should this project take off, will include having multiple locations, having services that will better the stance of anime in the nation, including, ideally, services of professional translation, dubbing, artist guilds for manga, all done RIGHT. I even have a faint dream of a resort that behaves like a neverending convention, completely laced with everything an anime fan could dream of. Speaking of conventions, I would see this company have a VERY active convention presence. This would be the product of not myself, and not Jim. This would be the culmination of effort by every fan that wants better things for the future of their lifestyle.
My magnum opus in the shortest terms I could think of, and less organized than Id like.
I have launched the business in a sense already, as of today. I created, with much help from bunny, the first page that people will see at the convention, pending Jims approval. I will in the next few weeks be typing up and printing flyer packages for people to have at the convention. There I hope to have a laptop for people to see the intoductory page, and the flyers will in greater detail cover what I hope to see achieved. I havent found a host as of yet, if anyone has a good recommendation for the page, Ill look into it. As soon as it goes up, Ill post here to announce it being online. Ill ask everyone to add it to favorites if they have interest, and watch if for updates. Plus, tell all your friends that are interested, word spreads like wildfire, theres nothing in the world like word of mouth.
If anybody has comments, questions, or good ideas, email me, my email is on my user info page. Which reminds me, before the convention, Ill have a business email put together for all Project A related inquiries.

Your brain: 80% interpersonal, 120% visual, 140% verbal, and 60% mathematical!
|
Congratulations on being 400% smart! Actually, on my test, everyone is. The above score breaks down what kind of thinking you most enjoy doing. A score above 100% means you use that kind of thinking more than average, and a score below 100% means you use it less. It says nothing about how good you are at any one, just how interested you are in each, relatively. A substantial difference in scores between two people means, conclusively, that they are different kinds of thinkers.
Matching Summary: Each of us has different tastes. Still, I offer the following advice, which I think is obvious:
- Don't date someone if your interpersonal percentages differ by more than 80%.
- Don't be friends with someone if your verbal percentages differ by more than 100%.
- Don't have sex with someone if their math percentage is over 200%.
|
|
My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
|
You scored higher than 74% on interpersonal |
|
You scored higher than 79% on visual |
|
You scored higher than 93% on verbal |
|
You scored higher than 56% on mathematical |

Smirnoff Twisted Green Apple rocks. There was a bottle dad left in the fridge before going overseas, and mom needed to clean the fridge, so it became mine. Good stuff.

Well, shit. Got into a minor accident the other day, and I now have to get a new hood for my car. Good news is I may be able to get a better looking one, Im thinking I may be able to get a pimpy hood with a hood scoop. Nothing else was damaged on the car, and Im A-OK.

Busy day, but productive. Car sales rules, pulled my first solo sale and sold a Suzuki XL-7 SUV for $22,000, made $500 for 2 hours of work. Plus I spent the day chilling with the customer, rolling around in her pimpy new SUV, we both were waiting for hours for the bank to get back in touch, had to get some information from her workplace, so we ended up going to her house where I was able to meet her boyfriend and show him the SUV,which he liked, we went to her place of occupation 45 minutes away, the dealership bought us lunch and we ate at a place called Charleys, high end joint it was. Meal paid for in full. Now, I ask you all, does customer service get any better than that? For that matter, does a job get any better? Im free reign, able to do as I please essentially to make a sale a pleasant experience for the customer. Life could get very friggin good if this keeps up.
